EA Australia announced today that upcoming title, Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel, will be its first ever R 18+ title for high impact violence.
The first game to receive an R18+ was Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge for the Nintendo Wii U on January 11.
Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel, powered by Dice’s Frostbite 2 engine, will launch in Australia on March 28 and March 29, 2013 in New Zealand on Xbox 360 and PS3.
Also, in the rating news, Telltale’s adventure game, The Walking Dead, received an MA15+ rating today. The critically acclaimed game was previously only available for PC and Mac via Steam.
The developer stated last year that the game would not see a full Australian retail release because of Australia’s harsh rating system for computer and video games. Telltale changed their mind in light of the R18+ introduction, which went into effect January 11, 2013.
Retail release dates for The Walking Dead on Xbox 360 via Xbox Live, PS3 via PSN and PC will be announced in the coming weeks.
